In the heart of the San Antonio River Walk, the Original Mexican Restaurant is inspired by the exciting, traditional flavors of Old Mexico — set right in the middle of the city's biggest moments: Fiesta, Spurs games, the Battle of Flowers Parade, the Fiesta Flambeau, and conventions at the nearby Convention Center and Alamodome.
The Original Mexican Restaurant of San Antonio was founded in 1899 on Losoya Street, just across the river, and closed in 1960. In 1988, the name was revived here on the newly revitalized Paseo del Rio — the third Mexican restaurant to open on the river — continuing the tradition of serving San Antonio-style Mexican food in a lively riverside setting.
